Yield: 1 Large Wreath

Equipment

  • Scissors
  • Metal floral wire
  • 12 inch wreath frame

Materials

  • rubber bands
  • wire wreath
  • floral wire
  • About 9 - 1 inch the feather reed grass bundles!

Instructions

  • 1. Cut the tops of the reeds off leaving about 3 inches of stem under the feathery seed reeds.
  • 2. Bunch reeds together into about 1-inch bundles using rubber bands... I used these goody brand hair bands!
  • 3. Place 1st bunch onto the wire wreath, and secure it with floral wire. Don't cut the wire. Wrap the floral wire around the base of the bunch 3-4 times till it does not move.
  • 4. Place the 2nd reed bundle lower on the wire wreath to cover the wires fastening the first bunch.
  • 5. Use the same roll of uncut floral wire to secure the second bunch of feather reeds at the base. Wrap the floral wire around it 3-4 times (till it does not move.)
  • 6. Continue this pattern all the way around your wire wreath, placing a new feather reed bunch about 3-4 inches under each other.
  • 7. When you come to the end, and your wreath is full all the way around, cut the floral wire and tie it off nice and tight.
  • 8. Pull and adjust the feather reeds to cover the wires and wreath, and hang it!
