Serve these easy oven baked country-style pork ribs with your favorite sides like BBQ Baked Beans, or loaded potato salad, is a perfect dinner for the whole family or for a potluck… These tender boneless pork ribs are the most popular dish at any potluck gathering!
Country Style Pork Ribs vs. Ribs
Country-style pork ribs aren’t actually ribs… Baked to fall apart perfection, these boneless pork ribs are from the shoulder cut of pork… It’s the same meat used for pulled pork! If you were to get these as bone-in “ribs” you’d see the same y-shaped bone you see when cooking bone-in pork butt roast or pork shoulder roast.

Country style pork ribs are affordable and usually cost about $2 per pound. (Way more affordable than beef ribs, baby back ribs or spare ribs.) Plus, they’re much meatier than real pork ribs, and they don’t have the cartilage on real ribs…
You get more for your buck with country-style pork ribs!
Country style ribs have the same wonderful fat marbling that keeps them nice and moist through the long, slow and low baking process to fall-apart apart ribs!

Cook Boneless Country-Style Pork Ribs in the Oven!
For fall-apart tender ribs, country-style ribs MUST cook low and slow for a longer time! If you try to speed it up you’ll get chewy pork, Ewe. Good news…
The 3 hour baking time is easy for you as it’s almost all hands-off! After only 10 minutes of prep time, country style ribs are ready to go in the oven! Your oven does almost all the work, so you can relax!

Key Ingredients
One of the best things about these mouth-watering BBQ ribs is that they are meaty, flavorful, inexpensive, and easy to make!
- Country style pork ribs. You can use either bone in or boneless ribs… Just decrease the cooking time for boneless ribs by 30 minutes!
- Dry Rub seasoning. You can use your favorite, if you have it on hand… Or use mine on the recipe card!
- Your favorite BBQ sauce
Tools
You’ll need a roasting pan, aluminum foil for lining your pan and covering the ribs, and a basting brush!

Best Seasonings for Country Ribs Rub
These seasonings combine to make the best dry rub for ribs…. The smoked paprika give them a subtle smokey flavor, red pepper flakes give a bit of heat, garlic and onion for flavor and a bit of brown sugar for sweetness… You can’t go wring with this stuff! My dry rub includes:
- chili powder
- dark brown sugar
- smoked paprika
- cumin
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- salt
- crushed red pepper flakes
- black pepper
After seasoning, place ribs in a single layer on your foil lined baking dish. (Use a baking dish instead of a tray, because you need a high rim for juices that the meat will release as it bakes.) If using a baking sheet, make sure you’ve got some good side rims to hold juices.

Serve With
This hearty main dish calls for hearty side dishes! I love to serve country-style ribs with these sides: loaded potato salad, or Mashed potatoes and country-style gravy, baked beans, Pasta Salad, fruit salad, corn-on-the-cob, or thick slices of homemade bread spread with garlic butter garlic, and salt.
And a cold glass of lemonade and homemade Chocolate cake make this an unforgettable feast!
Notes
Making these for a party or large gathering? A good rule of thumb is to make 2 (two) ribs for each person. That is a generous serving, and I think it’s always better to have extras than not enough. If you are making a large batch of country style ribs, prepare them 2 trays at a time.
You will need to add fifteen minutes to the first baking time, so 2 hours and 15 minutes, then swap spots (one on top of the other) halfway through both baking times… This way they will cook evenly on both trays.

Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Leftover country style ribs make awesome the next-day for sandwiches! Just put them between bread or on a roll with some mustard, lettuce, or sauerkraut and you’ve got a tasty lunch!
You can also freeze leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 months! To serve, just thaw in the fridge add bbq sauce on top to prevent drying out, and bake at 275 for 20 minutes!
Are Baked Country Style Pork Ribs Tough?
Country-style ribs can be tough if they aren’t cooked right! If you try to grill them, they’ll be tough. However, if you cook them right, meaning slow and low like this recipe, they will be fall off the bone (or blade) tender and delicious!
These cheap, easy to make and oh so good ribs are an excellent alternative to baby back pork ribs… It could be your new favorite way to eat pork!
Tips
Do not butter or grease your baking dish… These “ribs” have plenty of fat that melts while they cook preventing them from sticking. That fat also makes these tender and delicious!
At the grocery store look for country-style ribs that are evenly sized, so they cook evenly!
Try adding a couple of teaspoons of apple cider vinegar for extra flavor and tenderness!
Let your ribs REST for 10 minutes after removing them from the oven! This allows your meat to reabsorb its juices before serving!

Hi, I am going to make these ribs today but I need some clarification please. Sorry I I have made ribs one other time and they are my husband’s favorite so I want to do it right. The cook time states 4 hours but the instructions say 2 hour and then after bbq sauce 1 hour. Is the correct time 3 hours or is it supposed to be 2 hours after the bbq sauce is applied? Thank you and I can’t wait to try these.

Hi Melissa! Sorry for the confusion! Yes, you are correct, the total time is 3 hours! You just cook them for one more hour after applying BBQ sauce… Hope you enjoy it! (Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I fixed the recipe card.)

The cook time in the recipe card now says 3 minutes. Also, in the write-up before the recipe card you say to preheat the oven to 300, then in the directions it says to bake at 275. In the recipe card it says 300 for both.
Looking forward to trying these today!

Thanks for stopping by JVrock! Thanks for the heads up… Its 3 hours cooking time not minutes and the 275 is for reheating not cooking the first time. Enjoy!
